Collection: #SolesForACause
With the rise of Covid-19 cases across the globe, one of the hardest hit countries was India, which currently has an average of 200,000-300,000 cases on a daily basis.
Indian craftspeople are the second largest employed sector in India, engaging approximately 68 million people and yet this stands to be the poorest segment. For more than a year now, these craftspeople have been struggling to survive and fear that poverty will kill them sooner than Covid will. They had been heavily suffering from the Domino effects of the slowdown in consumer demand, resulting in minimal orders, sales and revenue to even procure basic supplies and raw materials for trying to engage in any production and thus were in need of dire support.
Thus, Changani Couture x Suutari decided to support these craftspeople by launching an exclusive collection of cute, comfortable and classic shoes that don't only provide the craftspeople in India with an opportunity to earn a living, but ALL PROCCEDS went to a local charity in need and provided them with ration essentials.
Each shoe purchased contributed towards supporting:
1. Supporting the livelihood of an Artisan
2. Feeding one family for one month
3. Helping sustain the legacy of fine skills that have been passed down after generations
